Summertime Favorite: Fresh Tomato Sauce

I love summer for its glorious tomatoes, and this tomato sauce recipe has tons of applications from pairings with pasta and beyond. I describe a few of these in my post on the tomato trifecta.  Stay in touch for many more dishes that I make using this basic sauce. (A grilled vegetable parmigiana comes to mind, for example.)

This is my first-ever reposting of a piece I wrote previously, as it was really early on and most of my readers will not have seen it. Plus, in linking back to it this past weekend I took the opportunity to add some lovely photos to further assist you. Now that tomato season has officially arrived here in New England, I'll be making up my first batch of the season very soon. So delicious, so satisfying, maybe it's time for you to give it a shot, too!

  2. Hey PK — you _did_ inspire. I stocked up on tomatoes at today’s Copley Market…..something to use up the bevy of basil, rosemary and oregano going wild on my back patio. I’ll keep you posted!

    • So glad to hear it, Karin ~ thanks for writing & do let me know how it turns out! I always have tomato sauce in my freezer that gets me through the winter (and often in my fridge for an easy weeknight’s meal). And sounds like you have the right herbs on hand for it, too!
